Abstract : Digital reference service is one manifestation of keeping pace with technological developments in the field of information retrieval. Many foreign libraries interested in this service, because of their role in supporting the educational process and the research community. The study focuses on digital reference service provided by national libraries in the world, to determine methods of providing the service, based upon, the methods used in the evaluation, and the use of female students at the University of King Abdul Aziz of this service, by using the survey method in collecting national libraries and measuring the use of digital reference service provided by these libraries. The study found that 95% of the professional references have obtained qualifications in specialty libraries and information, and the term "Reference librarian" is the most common terms used to denote the job title of the digital reference service.
