The study was aimed at discovering the relationship between the quality of family life and the development of moral judgment, Among a sample of (208) male juveniles aged (13 -18 years),Included (87) delinquents, and (121) students, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The study was also aimed at identifying the differences between the sample in quality of family life and the development of moral judgment.The researcher used a form to gather preliminary information, the quality of family life scale prepared by (Amani Abd Elwahab and Samira Chand, 2010), and the moral judgment Objective scale by ( Gibbs, J. C. et al, 1984 ) which was standardized by Hussein Al-Ghamdi for the saudi environment (in press). Using the statistical analysis program (SPSS), the researcher concluded that there is no statistically significant relationship between the quality of family life (total degree) and the development of moral judgment of juvenile delinquents. While there is a positive correlation for the value of (0.300) at the level of significance (0.01) between ( Financial ability / health safety ) of the dimensions of the quality of family life and the moral judgment degree of the delinquents. Also, there was no relationship between the quality of family life and the development of moral judgment among juvenile non-delinquents. There are also no statistically significant differences between juvenile Delinquents and Non-Delinquents in the degree of perception of the quality of family life and the degree of moral judgment development, There are differences between Delinquents and Non-Delinquents at the stage of moral judgment. There are no statistically significant differences between the juvenile delinquents in the degree of moral judgment and the quality of family life based on the type of offence. As per the results of the study, the researcher suggests the need for attention to the developmental, preventive and curative aspects of adolescents and the need to expand the field of studies and research for this age group |
