Abstract : This study investigates the impact of unemployment among Saudi female university graduates and the effectiveness of the role of the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) in reducing the unemployment rate among them and boosting job localization in the private businesses. This study employs a questionnaire-based methodology to collect its data. The questionnaire targets both fresh female graduates from the Faculty of Economics and Administration at King Abdul-Aziz University (KAU) who are seeking employment( 200) and those are already employed through the HRDF special program for employing women in women's needs shops.(200)The study concluded that the majority of the unemployed women are BA holders falling within the age group of 25-30, a demographic believed to be full of positive energy and capable of infusing the job market with creativity. It was also found that this majority has sought jobs in women's shops, but with little success. Although the HRDF has attempted to curtail such a waste of qualified human resources through its special program for employing women in women's needs shops, some major problems still persist even with employed women, including long work hours and a lack of proper company transportation arrangements. The study recommends that universities offer job-market-related programs based on extensive needs analysis and frequently update their database of fresh graduates for both private and government employers. The study also recommends offering a wide range of job opportunities for new female graduates that stem from the different university programs on offer, and therefore, leading to faster and efficient job localization. More engaging job training and opportunities are expected of the HRDF programs. A more favourable work environment for Saudi women should be provided, including break lounges, day-care facilities, flexible work hours, and more incentives, especially for working during peak seasons
